Summer Dean opens the show at 7:30 p.m.
Soulful, country twang with grit
When you hear Summer Dean, the twang in her voice, and the grit in her soul, you’ll figure out pretty quick that her authenticity comes from knowing where she’s from and who she is. Whether performing all by her lonesome or with her band, Summer has established herself as an independent woman with a distinctive voice who can put on a heck of a show. Summer knows her way around a done-somebody-wrong-song, but doesn’t mean she’s a downer, as even her saddest self-reflections are shot through with rueful humor. On Unladylike, her 2016 debut EP, Summer let the levity of a wry turn of phrase sweeten her sorrows leaving the listener to wipe a tear as they sip tequila. She spent the next years playing in front of as many people as possible, and her nonstop show schedule has paid off with big crowds of appreciative fans. Thus far, Summer has shared the stage with a range of country music’s brightest stars, including legends like Marty Stuart, Asleep at the Wheel, and Dale Watson, as well as like-minded young guns like Colter Wall and Mike and the Moonpies. She will hit the road in support of her next full-length record, Bad Romantic, in 2021.
