A Latin Grammy winner’s distinctive blend of country, Tex-Mex & Tejano

After more than 30 years in music, David Lee Garza y Los Musicales have generated hit after hit with a combination of danceable melodies and an earthy blend of country, Tex-Mex and straight up Tejano. David Lee’s distinctive accordion music is readily recognized, especially when collaborating with Tejano Grammy Award-winning artists like Little Joe y La Familia, Jimmy Gonzales, La Firma, Bobby Pulido, Joel Guzman and Joe Posada or Americana favorites like Kevin Fowler, Cory Morrow, T Graham Brown, Johnny Rodriguez and Johnny Bush. Producing a string of hits, including “Con El Tiempo,” “Hey David, Who’s That Gringo?,” “Cuatro Caminos,” and “Te Quiero Te Amo” has kept David Lee and his band at the top of minds and Tejano Music charts. Los Musicales are truly a family dynasty: David Lee handles the accordion and second vocals, his brother, Richard, plays bass guitar; brother, Adam, handles the drums; Oscar “WoWee” Montemayor is on saxophone, Billy O’Rourke on bajo-sexto, guitar and vocals; Daniel Fernandez on keyboards, and John Cruz on electric guitar with Cezar Martinez handling lead vocals. With more than 30 albums on two major labels, David Lee has his own independent record label, DLG Records, and a second label, JROD Records, to record additional artists. JROD’s  first CD, Just Friends, a collaboration with 10 different vocalists, won the 2013 Latin Grammy for Best Tejano Album.
