Celebrating 50 years of unforgettable pop/rock
In 1970, four young musicians from Los Angeles came together to create an invigorating style of music exploring progressive classical and world music that’s rooted in the soul of R&B. The result was Ambrosia, a soft rock band that garnered five hit singles, five Grammy nominations, heavy FM airplay, sold-out concerts around the world, and the respect and admiration of the musical community. Originally labeled as America’s answer to the progressive invasion of such English acts as Yes and King Crimson, Ambroisa quickly proved it was all that and much more as its albums painted aural landscapes covering the gamut of musical styles and attracting the collaboration of such cultural icons as Leonard Bernstein, Kurt Vonnegut Jr. and Alan Parsons. With three of its four original members still performing, Ambrosia is more alive than ever and continues to tour and delight audiences with their hits, “How Much I Feel,” “You’re the Only Woman,” “Holdin’ On” and “Biggest Part of Me.”
Opening artist: Brad Thompson at 7 p.m
