Best known for their two gold single hits, “Carry On My Wayward Son” and “Dust in the Wind,” Kansas is celebrating more than 40 years as one of America’s most iconic classic rock bands. Kansas will perform in Arlington with special guest, Starship featuring Mickey Thomas, for the Levitt Pavilion’s annual benefit concert at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 23.
Tickets for Texas Health/Arlington Memorial Hospital presents Kansas with special guest Starship featuring Mickey Thomas are $45 for general admission and $185 for VIP tickets. VIP experience tickets include a reserved parking area, preconcert party, silent auction and reserved seats in the VIP section at the concert, sponsored by the United Service Association for Health Care Foundation. Kansas, a garage band from Topeka, released their debut album in 1974 and have gone on to sell more than 30 million albums worldwide in their four decades. The band’s catalogue includes 15 studio albums and five live albums, eight gold albums, and three six-time platinum albums. Kansas appeared on the Billboard charts for 200 weeks in the ‘70s and ‘80s. “Carry On My Wayward Son” continues to be one of the top five most played songs on classic rock radio.
Mickey Thomas owns the soaring voice that propelled the band, Starship, through the ‘80s and ‘90s with hits like “Jane,” “No Way Out,” “We Built This City,” “Find Your Way Back” and “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now.”
Proceeds from Levitt Pavilion Arlington’s annual benefit concert help them provide more than 50 free concerts a year for everyone to enjoy.
